Remember The Vendee
Using History, heritage, and tradition to create a future. The
new radical and godless French government after the 1790 revolution faced a
problem with controlling the conservative rural and Catholic population. The
traditionalism of Catholics was considered a threat to the secularism of the
new government since it was conservative and loyal to the King and the nation
of France. The Committee of Public Safety, an investigation agency, focused on limiting
traditional Catholicism. It even attacked Protestantism and Jews. The
government divided the church, allowing only priests and bishops selected
and/or approved by them. It was a shadow church to support the government and
keep religious practices behind closed doors. Traditional priests were hunted
down, killed, or imprisoned. Woke mob members monitored Catholicism to aid the
government crackdown. Most Catholics ignored, hid from, or even helped the
Reign of Terror as it slowly emerged. The Vendee's brave rural Catholic region of
France stood up, but it was too late. The heroic Vendee ended like our Alamo
defenders. But their spirit lives to this day – remember the Vendee! We face
the same combination of the woke mob, government, globalism, and media attacks
on our faith.
